Katie Meaux, Owner

Even though Katie practiced for several years as a dental hygienist , she could not deny her sweet tooth!  She finally decided to leave the dental profession and pursue her passion for baking.  When it came to naming her storefront she knew exactly what to call it.  Growing up, every time someone needed a dessert Katie’s parents and friends would respond with “Well, Katie bakes…”!  So in November 2011, Katie Bakes was born!   Katie and her husband, Jake, have two rambunctious mutts named Roxy & Tippy along with five awesome nieces & nephews.  Katie has a weird obsession with birds and foxes.  She loves to be outdoors, running, fishing, and camping!  She’s also quite the prankster and has a cheesy sense of humor….which the girls love, or they pretend to!

Skylar Manuel, Cake Artist & Head Baker

Skylar has been with Katie Bakes since the start in 2011.  Skylar is a full time cake artist and head baker at Katie Bakes.  She’s got superfast skills and idolizes Captain America.  Skylar has a fascination with Bill Murray and loves to run, ride dirt bikes, and get into trouble.  Overall, she’s a perfect fit!

Lauren Brasher, Manager/Consultant & Cake Artist

Lauren started with Katie Bakes in 2012.  She hails from Memphis, Tennessee hence her nickname “Memphis”.  Lauren is a full time consultant and cake artist with a special talent in painting and color.  She is currently studying for her masters in counseling at UL, and she’s got mean vocals and skills on the guitar!  She’s got a bad whistling habit and the quickest wit in the South!
